Solterra Pavers |

With school just around the corner for most of Colorado's kids, some schools are preparing their campuses for students in different ways. Tollgate Elementary in Aurora is remeditating the outside of the school. One of them is using Borgert's Aquabric permeable paver in portions of the school to address stormwater run off.
The Aquabric has a unique joint that is expanded to 1/4 of an inch whereas a standard paver joint is 1/16". The base and bedding layer are also quite different from standard pavers. Rather than using a road base and sand, there is gradations of rock that range from large pieces in the 2" range down to 1/4" pieces. This gradation allows for water to infiltrate through the voids which not only keeps water from pooling on the surface but acts as a filter that can remove some of the pollutants that can be in the water. Because these systems are so versatile, water can either be filtered directly into the ground or it can be directed to other places such as a water harvesting system or even an existing storm drainage system.
Tollgate Elementary is not totally complete yet but should be prior to the start of the school year.

Manitou Springs |

Have you ever been to Manitou Springs? It is a small town west of Colorado Springs with tons of local fair.
Most recently Rocky Mountain Hardscapes was working on further enhancing the streetscapes down there. Manitou Springs has utilized a unique color blend in the pavers they have used. It is a custom blend of green and red to compliment the surrounding mountain environment-- green for the vegetation and red for surrouding soil.
Rather than utilizing pavers for the entire sidewalk, they have opted to use a paver band set just inside of the curb with a concrete sidewalk next to the pavers. It is a cost effective way of enhancing your project while maintaining a budget.

If you are getting a paver project installed at your house, make sure that the company you are using is ICPI Certified. By requesting that your contractor have ICPI Certification you can rest assured that the people working on your project have received the appropriate training necessary to follow the latest standards and best practices related to paver installation. There are tons of contractors out there that think installing a paver project is as easy as flattening out the project area and laying the pavers out when in actuallity it is a very complex process. If all the elements are not done to ICPI standards, then you can have serious problems with your pavement such as severe settling and cracking to name a few.
Here at Rocky Mountain Hardscapes we take our customers projects seriously and have our team members go through the various courses that the ICPI offers from their basic installation course to their PICP course so we can install your project perfect every time. On top of our certifications, our team members have years of experience installing a variety of projects ranging from a small back yard patio to larger commercial projects. Please check out our portfolio and commercial tabs on our website to see the variety of projects we have completed.

We are pleased to announce that we have recently completed the Palisades Pool Project in the Town of Gateway, Colorado and the pool is ready for fun! It took a month to complete the pool with a nearby parking garage. We utilzed Pavestone's Villa Stone for a predominant portion of the job with Holland and Symetry Square as accent stones throughout. If you are in the area, feel free to check out the beautiful new pavers and beat the heat with the pool.
We are now working in the Northern Town of Fort Collins on the Max BRT Bus Terminal Projects installing pavers around the new public transportation infrastructure. We will be installing and intricate pattern in a variety of colors. This is going to be a long term project that we install since the pavers are going to be used at multiple different terminals.
Among the Fort Collins Project, we are also installing a variety of residential orders all around the state of Colorado and have recently put out a new promotion with RSVP postcard. Subscribe to that mailer to take advantage of our newest deal. As always please feel free to contact us for a quote for your project.

This week Rocky Mountain Hardscapes has been installing a commerical project up in the beautiful town of Gateway, Colorado about 53 miles southwest of Grand Junction. We are working at the Gateway Canyons Resort on 2 projects. First, is the Palisades Pool project that is being updated with a new paver facade featuring the 8cm Villa Stone. The multi-piece pattern in conjuction with the surface texture creates a natural look to mimic the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Flowing through the Villa Stone will be bands of City Stone and Holland will be featured in other areas of the project to accentuate the Villa Stone and offer a complexity of textures to the project.
The second area that we will be working on is the correlating parking area that will feature the same stones. When all the pavers are laid, both projects will encompass just over 20,000 sf.
If you are in the area and are interested in a quote, please contact us from our website or you can give us a call at 303-477-9277. We work all over Colorado!

With Spring here and summer following closely, it is a great time to revitalize that old slab patio. An easy way to do that is overlay the existing slab with one of our many paver options. An old slab that is in good condition can be overlayed with most any paver choice and save the cost of demolition allowing the project to be completed faster. Contact us for your FREE Estimate today! Also don't forget to check us out in the Home Mag for great offers!
